The NASCAR Hall of Fame is a Bust

The NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC is not the success it was supposed to be. The multi million conglomerate is empty on most weekdays and even on the weekend, the crowd is lacking in numbers.

Charlotte promised NASCAR the world in exchange for the rights to have the Hall of Fame in the city. The promises included only one dollar rent, per year, if they would decide to allow Charlotte to build the Hall of Fame there.

What a waste. Libraries are closing early on most day and on Sunday and Monday, they are not open at all. What is more important; a big empty build or access to the library?

For Charlotte, it is the big empty NASCAR Hall of Fame Building.

Is Charlotte NC Still Segregated?

It seems as if Charlotte, NC is still segregated, at least when it come to their transit system! The buses are situated in a way that white people who work in the uptown/downtown area catch their buses on the side of the transportation center away from the other people who catch the bus.

The buses for the uptown/downtown workers are plush with cloth seats and some of the buses even have TVs in the ceiling. Not only are the buses plush and comfortable, the bus drivers treat these riders with respect that is not given to black riders.

All My Children Cancelled

After more than 30 years entertaining their fans, All My Children is set to be cancelled. Erica Kane, Tad Martin, Angela Hubbard, Jesse Hubbard, Opal, Joe and Ruth Martin and the rest of the remarkable cast are all going to be a thing of the past, this Fall.

Due to low viewership, the cameras will soon stop rolling.

I have watched All My Children since the early 70s, when Erica was playing the role of an irresponsible teenager, who fell in love at the drop of a dime. Tad was a small boy who came into town under dire circumstances. His father Ray Gardener left him in the park alone.

Since then, Erica, played by Susan Lucci and Tad, played by Michael Knight have both grown up and they are both accomplished actors. I don’t know how I will fill the one o’clock void when All My Children leave the airways, but, I do know that the entire cast will be sorely missed by me and all of their fans.

The daughter of the former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani has been labeled as a shoplifter. 20 year old, Caroline Giuliani was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from the famous cosmetics store - Sephora.

The Harvard student was accused of taking five different items worth close to $100. These items included lip gloss and a tube of lipstick.

She escaped being officially charge with shoplifting because the staff on duty refused to press charges. But, there is still a problem for Miss Giuliani, the New York police did not excuse the offense, they issued her a desk appearance ticket with a charge of petit larceny.

August 31 is the appointed court date. The charge will probably be dismissed due to the fact Caroline Giuliani has no prior charges against her.
